This day was reserved for the Ring of Kerry, but the weather was not as good as I hoped for this year either.

So after the nice breakfast at the Wayside House, we took the Ring of Kerry road until Sneem, and from there we drove back on R568 road until we reached the cross road pointing to Kenamare on the right. Here we took left on the countryside roads until we reached the road leading to the Gap of Dunloe.

This pass through the Macgillycuddy’s Reeks is charming with its windy picturesque road, streams of water and flock of sheep taking over the road.

And here is one of the charming stone bridges, which despite the dark rainy weather still managed to make me stop and photograph it.

Beautiful streams crush in little waterfalls on the rocky grounds to reach the five small lakes located up here.

The rain started to pour harder, and before we retired for the night we passed next to the busy Kate Kearney’s Cottage.
